This week is unprecedented in our usually green, damp Pacific NW as fires rage through multiple counties. Thousands are evacuated, people have lost homes, livestock, and livelihoods. The photo above shows our state capitol building in Salem, during daytime hours as the smoke obscured the sun and made the day eerily dark and seemingly sinister.
Where we currently are, it's just dark and ashy. There are small fires nearby but they're as of now, contained. We currently have power, internet and air conditioning.
